Alien Swarm Reactive Drop Crashing

A little fun game to play with your friends for just a little ‘almost-top-down shoot and run’ action, is a game called on Steam. This is an upgrade of the game ‘Alien Swarm’ and its just more weapons, and more stuff added, and its F2P(!)Baiscally this is a ‘top down alien horde shooter’ where you as a player are trying to get from point A to point B while alien critters are coming in from all directions trying to make you the meal for the evening 🙂 This is kind of a 2D’ish game, but do not let yourself be put off by that. This is a little gem of a game if you ask me.

Your a Marine together with your friends (up to 8 players in co-op (not testet that many, but that must be chaotic 🙂 ) where each member has their own abilities in the group. (tech, medic, gun-ho etc). The game is well balanced and you need all the different types of players to complete the missions too. This game almost have the feeling of those old ‘arcade-games’ you got in the shopping malls in the 80’ies, but with better graphics 🙂Something that was quite hard to get to grip with in the beginning is how you move your character. Yes, its the ASWD controls, but it is not ‘forward/back/left/right’ but more like ‘North/South/West/East’ no matter what way your character is facing. You aim and shoot your gun with your mouse, and your character turns around based on/following the mouse cursor and not your ASWD keys. This takes a bit practice, but when it ‘gets into the fingers’ it feels like ‘second nature’ 🙂I started it up last night with a couple of friends that has not played it before (I had a few hours in it beforehand), and we quickly died and died and yes, you get the picture 🙂 After a couple tries we got better though, and cleared a few missions rather quickly.

Alien Swarm Reactive Drop Review

You have only one life, so if you die, you comrades continues without you (and your abilities) to try to clear the mission. If you all die, the mission failed, and you have to start it all over again. We played for like two hours last night (got quite late, so we stopped due to work the next morning) but I think we will start it up again most likely tonight/tomorrow and invite a few more friends into the ‘squad’. This game with 6-8 people has to be hillarious 🙂So, if you are looking for a game to have some quick fun with your friends where you do not have to grind like crazy to get the gear/to be on the same lvls as the rest of the group, this is a gem to test out, and did I mention that its free to play?
